The Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati recently recognized BigOrange Marketing’s work for Hensley Custom Building Group. The association presented BigOrange with the Best Social Marketing Program of the Year award on April 11, 2019 at the SAM Awards event.
Award-Winning Digital Marketing
In the category of organic online marketing, including social media, blogs and content campaigns, BigOrange and Hensley won for their overall 2018 social media and marketing program.
All entries were judged on concept, creativity, copy, layout, overall design, execution and marketing results delivered to the community.
A Strategic Content Marketing Plan
Here’s an overview of the home builder marketing plan BigOrange implemented for Hensley Homes:
Led by BigOrange, Hensley staff members completed an in-depth review of their ideal customer needs and pain points to create a targeted content marketing plan. The plan addressed key market segments including empty nesters, “forever home” owners and mid-career professionals.
BigOrange refined the overall marketing message and created the new tagline “Let’s build what matters.” The tagline emphasizes the shared belief that, at the end of the day, time with friends or family in a home that is 100 percent the homeowners’ vision is what matters most.
As part of BigOrange’s strategic content marketing plan for Hensley, three to four blog posts per month were shared from the Hensleyhomes.com hub. The posts were designed to appeal to the key customer groups in a rotating fashion. Content pieces, such as blog posts, articles, videos and photo shoots were shared out from the website hub in multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Houzz.
Content such as a new home photoshoot was amplified with the creation of related videos, articles and more.
A Pro Spotlight series of blog posts was launched to build community among the other locally owned businesses Hensley Homes works with. These include designers, real estate agents, landscape companies and more.
Solid Return on Investment
From the plan start, website traffic tripled. A positive return on investment was recognized within the first six months. A 2018 drone video of Indian Hill homes had over 1.7 thousand views.

More Recognition for BigOrange Marketing Home Builder Client
At the awards event, Hensley Custom Home Building also received the Best Floor Plan of the Year Award for small to medium-sized home builders. In the floor plan category, entries were judged on the best overall interior and exterior design, efficiency, the functionality of the plan and site solution.
