My Journey
Running an inbound marketing agency has been one of the highlights of my professional career. What you may not know is how I got involved in the marketing industry in the first place. After graduating from Hillsdale College with a dual degree in accounting and English, my journey as a writer began. Alongside my experience working for a variety of financial, health and manufacturing firms, I’ve done independent consulting work for my own business. As a mother of two, I decided to put pen to paper with some of my best tips and stories from raising my kids. This became my first book, Sleeping with the Laundry: Notes from the Mommy Track.
Fast forward a little over 10 years and an invitation landed in my inbox from Jodi Brandstetter, a bestselling author who had a vision for creating a series of books called Business Fusion. She sought marketing experts to contribute to the latest edition, Marketing Fusion, a marketing playbook for small and midsized companies.
It was a natural fit to author this book alongside my Chief Content Officer (and friend) Janice Weiser. She and I collaborated on Chapter Five, entitled “Tell Your Story and Market Your Business 21 Ways.” In it, we break down how to tell a compelling story about your company, create customer personas, build a quality website, create content worth reading, build a sales funnel, tap into Google My Business, get testimonials and rank higher with SEO. We were elated to hear that the book topped the Amazon Bestsellers list in multiple categories during launch weekend.
I hope to see you on March 14 for the author celebration. You can order a digital or paperback copy of my book here from Amazon. If you’d like to hear how we can use our favorite tactics to amplify your company’s marketing, schedule a call with me.
