ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Social Media Strategist and Content Creator with 4-8 years of experience. This role involves creating compelling social media content, multimedia assets, and managing digital strategies. The ideal candidate is adept at juggling multiple clients and projects, with a strong understanding of SEO, digital trends, and multimedia production.
To excel in this role, the candidate must be experienced in:
- Dynamic content development across digital platforms
- Multimedia production (video, audio, visuals) and storytelling
- SEO strategy and crafting lead generating content
- Aligning with clients’ unique branding, messaging, and industry goals
This role is intended to begin as a contractor role and then after an introductory period, be invited to join as a full time employee.
This position is a part-time 1099 contractor role. A 1099 contractor is an independent worker who provides services to BigOrange, offering flexibility in how they complete their work and allowing BigOrange to adjust hours based on client demands. RESPONSIBILITIES

- Social Media Management: Develop and execute engaging social media content and calendars. Create posts, graphics, and videos that align with client branding and digital strategies.
- Multimedia Production: Independently create digital assets, including videos, images, and graphics. Ensure high-quality production that resonates with target audiences.
- Content Creation: Write and manage content across platforms—blogs, social media, and websites. Deliver impactful storytelling and integrate SEO best practices.
- Agency Experience: Efficiently transition between multiple clients, managing content and social media strategies without disrupting workflow.
- Digital Strategy: Understand and apply digital marketing and SEO strategies to enhance content performance. Stay current with digital trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Clear Communication: Collaborate with client service managers and project managers to understand their needs and translate them into effective content strategies.
- Project Oversight: Oversee content projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables exceed client expectations.
- Comprehensive Content Calendar: Create a comprehensive content calendar to collaborate with cross-functional teams and align marketing campaigns.
- Monitoring and Measuring Effectiveness: Monitor and measure the effectiveness and results of marketing campaigns and recommend ways to improve future content performance.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough audits and reviews of all content to ensure it aligns with client expectations and industry standards.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Education: BA/BS in Writing, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years in social media and digital content management, preferably in an agency setting. Proficient in managing multiple projects and clients.
- Skills:
- Strong writing and editing abilities with a focus on SEO and storytelling.
- Expertise in creating multimedia content, including video and graphic design.
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, inbound marketing, and SEO.
- Proficiency with tools like WordPress, Canva, and HubSpot.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Bonus Skills:
- Writing examples in the following industries: Managed Service Providers, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Home Builders & Developers, and Landscaping.
- Knowledge of best practices to enhance user experience (UX).
- Experience with Canva, SquareSpace, HubSpot, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, or familiarity with inbound marketing methodology, content management, and social media management.
- HubSpot certification, or the ability to achieve certification within the first six months of employment.
- Familiarity with using Asana as a project management tool.
