What Is Included in an MSP Marketing Plan?

What is included in an MSP marketing plan?

A well-structured and creative marketing plan is crucial for managed service providers (MSPs) to stay on top of the competition in the ever-evolving industry of IT. MSPs must consider what strategies to include in their marketing plan that will be the most effective for business. So what is included in an MSP marketing plan?

Managed service providers should consider a number of different marketing tactics, both online and offline. An MSP marketing plan should include online strategies like:

Offline strategies should include elements like:

  • Webinars.
  • Networking events.
  • Sales presentations.

Not only must an MSP marketing plan attract new clients, but also maintain good relationships with existing customers. It’s important for MSPs who are just starting out, or looking to upgrade their marketing presence, to know what is included in an MSP marketing plan, what factors should be considered and where to start.

In today’s day and age, media engagement and content are crucial to a good marketing strategy,  but you shouldn’t write off other offline tactics. Sales presentations are an excellent way to get out there and inform potential clients about your services.

What Are the 4 Steps of a Sales Presentation?

So, what should be in an MSP sales presentation? The whole point is to sell your services, so it is important to make sure to highlight aspects such as what your services are,  the benefits you offer and how you are different from other MSPs. The way you communicate this information is up to you but here are four simple steps to help you formulate an effective MSP sales presentation.

Step 1: Research

The good news is, you have probably already completed step one without even realizing it. Before anything else comes research. Specifically research on your target audience. Who are you trying to sell to? What are they looking for? What strategies will catch their attention? For MSPs this means identifying specific industries that benefit from IT services.

Step 2: Preparation

Now that you’ve identified your target audience, it’s time to prepare for your presentation. Make sure to include crucial information in your presentation while still keeping it short. We all know how it feels to sit through a painfully long presentation, and it definitely won’t help attract customers!

Step 3: Present

You’ve researched and prepared, now it’s time to get out there. Make sure you present yourself as friendly and personable, someone who is there to help. Keep an open dialogue with your audience, ask and answer questions, get to know their challenges and goals.

Step 4: Follow up

Last but not least, follow up. You can’t expect immediate sales to start flowing in after your presentation, so it’s not the time to sit back and kick your feet up yet. Follow up with your potential clients, don’t let them forget about you. Send a personal follow-up email with highlights from your presentation as well as personalized information based on their business.
